Judging by the number of views, M&P assembly instructions have an audience.

Recently I disassembled my M&P .22 pistol and upon reassembly found myself unsure about the proper location of some parts. I attempted to research the Internet for guidance and was surprised to discover that a popular pistol that had been out for a few years had no detailed instruction readily available for help. Oh, I found a hundred videos and posts about field stripping but precious little about the internals. Fortunately I had taken some photos of my M&P as I disassembled it and was able to ascertain the correct location of all internal parts as well as what became a preferred order of assembly.

I decided to attempt to provide a community service by thoroughly documenting the proper assembly, with numerous clearly labeled photos, of the M&P and share it with the popular forums. You my have seen my post.

Recently, it came to my attention that there was another source of M&P .22 assembly documentation by what seems to be a practiced, competent gunsmith. I watched his video and spotted one discrepancy which caused me alarm as I do not want to misinform the public, especially when it comes to firearms. With so little information available about the internals of this pistol it was impossible for me to readily confirm the factory procedure in question. I was finally able to confirm that the information I published is in fact 100% correct. I was also able to track down the other gunsmith and discuss the discrepancy with him and was told he is in the process of correcting this minor error. Seems it was a video editing matter.

If you desire to work on the internals of your pistol, you may use my post linked below as a guide to proper assembly confident that it is correct. I would also like to encourage those that abhor the articulated trigger safety to try the trigger safety mod shown in the post. It can probably be done with the assembled case removed from the plastic frame without disassembling the case; just lay it on a block of wood. If you perform the mod without disassembling the case let us know. The trigger mod changed my opinion of the pistol from a 6.5 to an 8.5. It bothered me that much. YMMV.
