M&P 22 frame problem!

Hi! My name is Pedro, I'm from Portugal!
My M&P 22 has around 1200 shots and the metal frame has bent and looks cracked!!!

I was cleaning the gun and i just dry fired it without the slide and next thing I know I can't insert the magazine all the way up! (see picture)

Anyone with the same issue? Should I try to bend it back, or take it to the store?
As you can imagine, S&W service in Portugal it not like in the US where you can send pistols directly!

First off, Welcome to the forum. Just like most pistols and certain rifles(AR15 especially). You should never dry fire or drop the hammer without the slide attached. As you can clearly see, the hammer broke the block. If you must drop the hammer with the slide off, you should use your thumb to take the pressure off and do not let it slam into the frame. I would take it back to a qualified gun smith and have them order the part you need. This is the first I have seen this type of failure. Sorry,I doubt S&W will warranty this type of neglect.

Every time I dry fire without the slide i use my thumb to absorv the impact!
I'm not sure if I did it this time, but if I didn't was probably the first time!

I rather think that it was my fault, than to think that this is so fragile... But the truth is the block material is not good, because i never dry fire without the slide and dummy ammo!

I don't think S&W will warranty this, as is a form of dry firing at its worst and was bound to damage the firing mechanism block.
If you send it back for repair, it will be tied up for a long time. Better to buy another pistol and sell this one when it's returned to you.

worst case scenario: what happens if that part of the block completely breaks?
will the hammer jump out of the block? I would probably still have a functioning pitol, right? could it be dangerous?
