I have a M&P 22 to match my M&P .40 FS (w/ 9mm barrel option). It needed a solid break in with more expensive tasting CCI, but after my 4th or 5th range session, it reliably feeds the cheaper bulk now. Awesome to warm up to the center fire, and way cheaper to plink obviously. Only complaint is the sights, they should just 3-dot them from factory. Keep meaning to look at options to get something more similar to the FS but keep spending time shooting it instead. As for the safety, I feel the M&P 22 is more of an "introduction" firearm, and since I take novice/beginner shooters I take to the range often I like having the safety and making new shooters manipulate it to put me at further ease.
