My Bad, I can't count. This is a 5 screw gun not a 4 screw. Sorry, I guess I was excited to be on the forum.... LOL

$325...you need to talk to your confessor.

if its a 5 screw it was made in 1954...

It's a fiver alright...
Any ideas as to what it is worth?

Depends on the market. Locally, if I found that gun in a gunshop near me I would expect to pay around $600 for it, maybe a bit more. I expect that price would be different in different areas.

The gun in that picture that I posted above had incorrect stocks on it (still does for that matter) when I bought it, and I paid $220 for it a little over 2 years ago.

The problem with pricing these is that there are a lot of them around. I suspect the only way to establish a true price for a gun in that kind of condition (with the original box no less) would be an auction on one of the gun auction sites. It wouldn't take more then 2 collectors who wanted the best example possible for their collection fighting with each other on an online auction to get you more then anyone might expect.

It seems to be happening pretty frequently with old Smiths these days.

I know. there are times when i feel dirty, but he came to me with the deal and that was all he wanted. Am I supposed to say not you are not asking for enough?

I felt bad for a little while.

Very nice! You may want to consider putting that one in the safe - as you don't see many of that vintage in that condition. There are plenty of more "experienced" examples around if you want a shooter - although probably not for any less than you paid.

I have plenty of shooters. I agree there are plenty of those around. I was fascinated by the condition. Too bad it's not a Holland and Holland, LOL

I was just happy to find something in that kind of condition and at that age. I seriously thought about playing the lottery that day.
