I finally got a chance to get to the range today to fire my m&p40 with the new oem replacement 357 Sig barrel installed. The weapon functioned flawlessly. I love the 357 Sig round! I shot approximately 75 rounds through it.

I converted a 9mm sig and a 40 mp to 357 sig . it is a fantastic round and actually quite easy to reload . I bought the " cheapie " Lee 3pc die set and added the factory crimp die . The Lee die set is just steel , not carbide but just a light touch of Imperial Sizing Wax on the case and resizing is a snap . No big deal when comparing the price of other brands.
So far I have tried BE-86 and Acc #9 powders . Both performed great. I use a Ranier 124 gr plated bullet sized .355 designed for the 357 sig sauer . The S&W MP conversion needs a .356 plated bullet . My sig sauer conversion was the " X-change kit " from sig . It's an easy swap and comes right to your front door , no ffl required .
My S&W MP conversion is with an actual smith & wesson 357 sig barrel , from brownells . Enjoy , it is a great round to shoot and easy to reload , when done properly .

I got my 40FS in April and ordered the 357 Sig barrel a couple weeks later when they came back in stock at Midway. The barrel was $92 including shipping. So far I've only put 50 of the sig rounds through it but like them a lot! Still on the fence as to reloading them. I already load 6 handgun calibers and 1 rifle caliber. Once I get a good pile of the brass saved up I'll most likely pick up a set of dies and load them too.
