I have a M&P .40 FS born 11/12 that is going to have to get an Apex kit. I have put 500+ rounds through it and it hasn't gotten any lighter. It has a definite heavy trigger breaking point.

I also have a M&P 9mm FS born 8/13 that doesn't need a kit. The trigger is plenty light, and it is a pleasure to shoot.

I was hoping the .40 would smooth out and lighten up with some shooting and avoid a kit, but it hasn't budget a bit. It affects my accuracy.

Both have been completely reliable and very accurate. I'm pleased with them over all.

I've never installed an Apex kit. I wonder if the Apex kit will be such an improvement that I will end up having to do the 9mm too.

If you put the FSS in your FS .40, you are probably going to do it in the 9 mm. It is that good. If you CC your 9 mm, I won't put in the FSS because the trigger is around 3.5 lbs. Go with the DCAEK instead. I have the FSS in my FS .40 and the DCAEK in my .40 C and Shield. I have no regrets!!

A++++++++++++++++++++++ on the FSS KIT in your 40... just had mine done its fantastic.. Not just for the simple reason the trigger is smooth, light and responsive.. IT MAKES THE M&P LINE OF PISTOLS LOOK SO MUCH BETTER like it deserved this trigger since it was built

I put it in my 5" Pro. When I put it in, I left the factory trigger spring in. Checked it when I was done and it was just a hair under 3.5 lbs. Shot a couple hundred more rounds through it, added the RAM (it is a 2010 gun) and suddenly the trigger pull went down to 2.5 lbs. I had the gunsmith double check it with his trigger pull scale and he got the same results. Love the trigger, even though it is light. It is my competition gun and I shot it in my first match last night in 20 years. Mostly no issues. I do have a dreaded dead trigger once every 100-150 rounds. I do have the sear with the large sear plunger and spring. I am going to thoroughly clean it and double check the trigger bar later this week. If needed I will replace the trigger bar (I have a spare). It is no big deal so far. I know approx. when it is going to happen. I just racked the slide and carried on. I do love the FSS kit in the gun.
