I bought an M&P 40 a couple of weeks ago and the first time I shot it, the white dot on the front sight flew off. Anyone know what I can use to fix this? I don't want to send it back, because it's not affecting how I shoot, but for appearances I would like to fix it. Any help or suggestions would be great, Thanks.

Not a gunsmith!! but "xssights.com" has a few installation videos that you can watch that might be helpful. They don't have one specifically for S&W's but see what you think.

FWIW, I would send it back to S&W. It's new and the front sight should not come off. Call them and tell them what happened and they will send you a mailing label (for a courier) and it should be no cost to you.

HTH,

I had the same thing happen three times in a row with a brand new M&P9 I had bought for my girl. Kept sending it back and they would put a new front sight on it. You're talking about the small white middle part and not the whoel sight correct. After the third return it has worked fine through 2k so far. We actually want to put night sights on it now.
