I was cleaning my .45 this morning and notice a sizeable gap between the frame and slide above the slide lock. Is this normal? I've put about 185 rounds through it so far. It's not as much a gap with the magazine in. I'll try to attach a pic with and without the magazine.

Yep, mine has it as well. Kind of freaked me out seeing my rounds peeking out through there the first time, but it doesn't affect the performance of the gun at all.

Some brands have smaller gaps than others, but the M&Ps I have owned and currently own were all pretty much like that.

I think of it as ventilation. :)

yep all my polymer guns have that, especially my glocks . 100% normal nothing to fear

Thanks guys. This is my first gun. I have shot revolvers in the past. And wasn't sure if this was normal or not.

Thanks again!
