M&P 45 trigger

I have left all 4 of my M7P's as stock...If you can run a DA revolver the M&P is no big deal at all. Furthermore, any M&P that went out of action in USPSA/IDPA matches were all ones that they put a Kit into or was a DIY job.

One of my FS .40's is used in USPSA?IDPA matches and has over 16,000 rounds. The original striker finally gave out after that many rounds of live fire and probably 100x that amount of dry fires.

The trigger on that gun just keeps on getting better the more I fire....again it is stock.

Just MY thoughts on the topic.....

Revolvers and Semi's are apples and oranges, maybe S&W sought to replicate the revolver experience, but it was a mistake. I have quite a few S&W revolvers and absolutely love them. I intend to buy a lot more, but my expectations for them vs a Semi are different.

A good reset is not "a Glock thing". It's a Sig thing, a HK thing, a quality Semi-Auto thing. A long take up stroke affects accuracy and efficiency, particularly when stringing shots together. Run a timed shoot house or a combat course some time, I won't need to explain it to you.

If you like M&P's stock trigger cool, some people like Sigmas , but for a lot of people the trigger fails to make the grade. If what I'm hearing is true and S&W is redoing the M&P triggers, their must be quite a few people who are not satisfied with it.

I owned several M&P's, still own a trigger conversion 9mm, but after buying a kit for it and the more expensive NS's, combined with shooting a friends set-up Glock, the value difference became apparent. I actually prefer the feel of the M&P's, but not the trigger. I despise Glock, Glock's fan boys and the whole 9 yds of it. I'll be happy when I can sell my Glocks and can switch to M&P's, but until quality triggers become a stock item, they are not there for me yet.

Glock has an amazing reset, perfect in my opinion, however I've owned H&K and shot Sig, neither have good resets, in fact I much prefer my M&P stock resets to Sig or H&K. To say stock H&K or Sig triggers have a good reset is an absolute fantasy. Sig SRT is ok, but still not near what Glock is, perhaps H&K has some mod for their triggers to make the reset good, but stock configuration absolutely SUCKS!

1. I like the Sig SRT's so we disagree on that.
2. Shoot one of the HK LEM's and get back to me.
3. Glock reset is 3-4mm and is the shortest of the group, HK is second at 7mm. So it's factual, not fantasy. Number's don't lie.

Opinions are subject, particularly on triggers etc, shoot whatever makes you happy.

Why is it Glock guys opine over reset, I was shooting semi automatics long before Glock was ever invented, reset was something that really was not discussed when talking about triggers, things like length of pull, weight, smoothness, and breaking like a glass rod were. Being a 99% revolver shooter I'm just trying to figure out what all the hoopla is over this reset.

You're entitled to your opinion on those triggers, but LEM & SRT both cost more than the stock configurations so it's unfair to compare them to stock M&P triggers. The fair comparison would be to compare them to Apex enhanced trigger, even then M&Ps are still 1/2 the cost.

Btw, I don't know what LEM model you've shot, but the ones I've dry fired in the store had a terrible reset, and that was on P2000 & P30s, supposedly H&Ks masterpiece firearms.
