I work part time in a gun store and there has been a 45C hanging on the wall for years.

Finally asked the owner what the story was because I really want the gun, and he told me the trigger was having issues resetting.

In an attempt to fix it an Apex duty kit was added, but the trigger still goes dead pretty often when dry firing.

One thing I notice is that the trigger really seems to be binding up prior to where it breaks, and it just doesn't seem to come back far enough to release the sear consistently.

This gun has a manual safety and my thinking is that the trigger was reefed on with the safety engaged and possibly bent pretty bad. The trigger bar contacts the frame on the way back and like I said it does not engage the sear correctly like on my M&P 9.

Without the factory parts i'm worried about sending it back to S&W so i'm trying to get it working properly by replacing what needs to be replaced.

Anybody else have these issues? What would you suggest?

I'm thinking about replacing the trigger bar assembly and possibly the sear block to get the bigger plunger/spring.

Problem is everybody is out of stock with the trigger bar assembly.

Pulled the sear housing out and it looks like the sear is catching in the housing and it has the small plunger, so I'm ordering a new sear housing.
