I'm curious, did you already have the Deltapoint on hand
or did you order it? If you ordered it, can I ask where?
I have one on order from Opticsplanet and should come
in next week, but from what I've seen from checking out
most the retailers, Deltapoint has discontinued this model
in favor of the new "Pro". Problem is I think the new Pro
model will sit too high and won't cowitness with the sights.
The Pro is cool looking, but I'd rather have the older model.
Not to mention MSRP on the Pro is $600.

I've heard (take that for whatever it's worth, this is the internet after all
) That Leupold originally intended to sell only the DP2 so they stopped making the DP1, but then realized that the DP2 wasn't working out (either technically or price wise) and that the plan now is to bring out the DP Pro as well as putting the DP1 back into production so they have 2 offerings (actually 3 if you count the Redfield Accelerator since Leupold is the parent company of Redfield). I really hope this is the case because I prefer the DP1 from what I've read about the changes in the DP Pro. My DP1 had been bulletproof (meaning reliable, not literally). 
Edit: Do a Google search, there are a number of DP1's for sale, both used and new, mostly on Amazon and Ebay

I picked up the Deltapoint from my LGS. We ordered from his Distributor. I got it at his cost of $348.
I REALLY like it. Sounded like there were a bunch in Stock. I ordered on a Friday and it was there on Monday.

I, too, have been staring at this. Is the muzzle jump that much less noticeable, I wonder? Is there a lot of difference in the short vs 5" models in accuracy? Looks like an awfully good partner to me. Easily holstered with the optics? Does the PC offer a holster or recommend one? How is POA vs POI at 25 feet unscoped? I may have to just get one to answer all this myself, but is that extra length harder to hide or holster? How much difference in accuracy between the two, I wonder. Which one to buy??

I think the 5" makes a huge difference with accuracy for myself. Just gets to POA better.
I haven't found a Holster yet Nor does the PC recommend one. I do not think it will be hard to find one though as Optic sits far back.
You Can cowitness the sight rather well. So POA at 25 feet is spot on.

Forgot to ask: what about the trigger? Do you feel you will change it or is it fine?

The Regular Core needed the Apex kit. The PC models fixed that. It has an over travel stop and improved Trigger and sear. I will not touch it.

Just about any holster for an M&P will work.
Here's a short Blade Tech made for the 9c with my Core in it. (I use this one for IDPA and CC when carrying my 9c)
Here's a Blade Tech speed rig (just sold this one yesterday, but it worked well for a while until I decided to spend more money on the Safariland)
And the present holster (no, this does not work for CC)
