Just picked up a new one. love the weapon, hate the handgrips. I knew it would come wu it these but I would rather have similar to what I have on my ORIGINAL M&P9. Any suggestions-I like quality
Thanks

If you're referring to the rougher texture, the 1.0 backstraps will fit if that's enough for you. Otherwise, lot's of folks rub some sandpaper over the stippling to "blunt" them.

If the texture is too rough, you might just wait a while. I thought my grips were way too rough at first and so did my wife on my M&P 4 inch 10 mm. After a short period of time, we both just got used to it and love them. They really help you hang onto the gun, especially if your hands are wet or sweaty. I now wish all my guns had grip checkering like that.

You could try ‘lightly’ sanding the grip frame, but I tend to agree the rough texture seems less so with time.

If it's the rough texture, you might take a look at Talon Black Rubber Grips. I have these on my Shield 9 1.0 going on 9 years now with no problems whatsoever. Here's a link:
TALON Grips for Smith and Wesson Models

This is a pretty good option. I use it on my Shield 9 1.0 as well, and also have them on both my CZ P-10C's. Fairly simple to apply them and inexpensive to replace if needed.

I like the the M2.0 grip texture, though I only carry those when it's cooler and I am wearing a tucked undershirt.

Send me a PM with your contact info: I have a couple full size 1.0s and have quite a few of the various backstrap sizes we could trade.

Cheers!
