Can anyone tell me what are the differences between the M&P 9L and M&P 9PRO ? Are the innards the same? The S&W website is not very informative. Are they both with fixed or adjustable rear sights. The only difference I can see on the S&W website is a slight angle on the front of the slide on one model and a squared off front on the other.

The Pro has a fiber optic front sight, with a black rear sight, and the trigger is different. My Pro's trigger pull is set to 4.1 lbs according to a Lyman digital gauge.

The "L" has standard 3 dot sights and a heavier trigger. The Pro is supposed to have a "custom shop" trigger makeover. I wouldn't go that far, but it definately has shorter travel and a shorter reset in addition to being lighter.

Thanks for the info.It looks as if the M&P 9 Pro is the way to go.
