Hello everyone, my first post. I just recently bought a M&P 9 Pro series and Im looking for a holster for competition. I love my Safariland ALS holster for my XD, but all i can find for the 5" M&P are drop leg holsters that are $170+

Whats everyone else using for competition shooting? I have to have good retention so I dont loose it running the course. Also, looking at getting a belt as well. Thanks in advance!!!

I use a blade tech DOH stingray belt loop. The accepts the 5in pro and the the higher sights of the ported and core series. good luck

Contact Gundo Holsters on Facebook. They made a great level 2 retention holster for my son's M&P Pro.

Super nice work....

I don't shoot 3 gun, but a lot of my friends who shoot open like to use the Safariland 014 because when the pistol is locked in, it's almost impossible for the pistol to fall or be knocked out. I've tried to defeat the lock on mine and there is no way that the pistol can be forced out when the lock is engaged. The 014 is only available for 5" model M&P's.

I use a CompTac but I am sure you will be happy with any kydex holster. One nice thing about the CompTac mag holders is that each one can be adjusted independently for retention, not every maker offers this.

guidedfishing and mushki do you guys shoot any 3 gun in wisconsin? im from central wisconsin myself.

thanks for the advice, im hoping it will fit the safariland als i ordered, if not, ill try something else

I mainly just shoot IDPA but do shoot a match or two of 3 gun each year in Ripon. I know Holmen puts on 3 gun matches as well but I have never gone.

Jgriff50 & Mushki,

Holmen puts on a good matches, I have not participated in their 3 gun, but try to make it down there a couple times a year for Steel Challenge. There is also 3 gun matches run out of Fort McCoy by the sportsman club. I run the monthly Steel and bowling pin matches at our club in Colfax, for the Colfax Sportsmen's Club. The Wisconsin Shooters website has most of the major matches listed on the calendar that may help you find something. Winnequah gun club out of Lodi may offer something, I have shot steel there before not sure on 3 gun, and also the the Augusta sportsmens club is worth a look, they put on some good USPSA matches, and thought they might be getting into other events. Our Bowling pin matches are a hoot, have been well attended and pay out to 1st and 2nd place. Its all head to head double elimination, in multiple divisions. You can check it out at the colfax sportsmen's club website.

Hope that helps a little, There is typically a lot going on, most clubs are not good at getting the info out there.

sounds good, I live in Wisconsin Rapids, so I plan on hitting up Ft Mccoy and Holmen and Lodi, possibly Ripon too, but thats going to get expensive to hit every match at all 4 of those. the bowling pin thing sounds fun, I'll have to check and see how far Colfax is for me.

Something like this?

I made this for someone with a standard M&P and a Pro.
