just wondering has anyone done this before i try it
i ran across this video on the tube..
my first thought is wouldnt this effect the mag spring as in making it weaker by adding to much room that wasnt originally accounted for by smith

I use my 12 rounders for duty and wouldn't want to take a chance.

If you want more rounds carry a extra 17 round mag on your off side .. you can find them for around twenty bucks .. the extension is around 10 bucks and then shipping .. hardly seems practical when you can pick up M&P mags in sporting goods stores for double that .. but with out paying for shipping ..

I carry a spare mag when carrying my 40c .. I wouldn't put an extension on my mags ..

Interesting but we weren't shown whether it actually works in actual use. The guy at G&R tactical says they work. Apparently they might also work on the FS. Awful cheap, so probably worth trying. If it works, it works.

I have a +2 for an ancient Star PD mag and it has always worked perfectly.

Sounds like a reliable source to me, LOL. Does this moron know the 9c takes the same mags as the FS?

i was thinking this too,,
i think he did it, because he like the pinky extension, but didnt want to just have wasted space ..so this way he gets a pinky rest thats has a pluss 2... the same real estate .. im guessing this is why..

It won't affect the mag spring, S&W (in it's infinite wisdom ) uses the exact same spring in the 12 round mag as it does in the 17 round mag (and probably the 10 round, but I've never seen one of those). This is why loading the compact is so difficult.

Id rather do this...and I do on occasion on range qual days. Full 17 rounder and a full size grip.

Just purchased the 9c today.. and i do plan on moding one of the mags this way... dont know if its worth making a thread for it.. let me know if you guys want an up date on this .. i will run a few boxes threw the modedd mag to see how it response. ..
I have come to the conclusion thats it not not a bad idea.. a G19 sized map...
