I have a M&P 9c and I would like to extend the length of the grip. Will the 2.0 15 round magazine work in my 1.0 or is there a better option to extend the grip. I have the longer finger rest mag bottom on now but I still need the grip to be a little longer.

You can get a FS M&P's 17 round magazine, but someone else on the forum will have to confirm that the 2.0 17 rd mags fit the 1.0 compact. I think they do....

The 17 round mags are not 2.0 specific. They work in 1.0 and 2.0. For the M&P9C 1.0, you'll need an Xgrip spacer to "fill the gap".

You can use the 15 round 2.0 mags but there is no commercially available spacer to fill the gap.

Not my 9C but you can see the fullsize mag with Xgrips next to the 12 round.

Another option is the Hyve Tech +3 basepads.

I have the Hyve +3 on my 40C(converted to 9mm) and it's been reliable for 500+ plus rounds. Installed them to mirror my 2.0 3.6" and the profile is actually a hair shorter.

How do you disassemble the magazine when the mag spring is down in the well of the extension?

There's a set screw that holds/locks the extension in place. Here's a pic I found online of the set screw,

The 2.0 15 rnd mags work just fine in the 1.0c. Search for one of my old threads for info on a rubber/plastic spacer. Someone posted that prior so you may see his thread also. They need to be cut down to work so you need a sharp utility knife. There is also a thread on a +2 adapter that works fine on the 12 rnd mags.

I bought 3 of the Hyve extensions. They are exactly what I was looking for. They look good on the mags/gun and function flawlessly. They seemed a little slick so I wrapped my with bat tape. Works good. Thanks for the heads up.

I use the 17 rd mags off my full size 9 pro with grip sleeves, makes the grip as big as the full size, if not a tad longer.
Buy M+P mags, they are a lot more reliable the the pro mags
