M&P 9c or FN fns9c - GO!

Just picked a Sig p320c and sc. They are real contenders in my opinion vs my MP&P's and FN's. Very nice triggers.

I've owned a Glock 17, Springfield XD9, Ruger LC9, Bersa Thunder 380 and I have just purchased a new M&P 9c. Each one of these guns is different and each is good in its own way. My M&P 9c feels great, shoots great, accepts full size double stack M&P 9 magazines and is a quality pistol. I've had one problem with it and I've had to send it back to S&W twice for the original repair. The problem is ejecting brass to my face and head ("BTF"). S&W replaced the barrel, test fired it and sent it back to me, saying that it is fixed. I notified S&W who immediately sent me another free shipping label for FedEx to pick it up at my house, just like they did the first time. They were extremely polite and did not contest my complaint. So far, so good.
I'm not giving up on them yet because I really like the double stack compact pistol. I should have it back soon -- total turn around time is almost 3 weeks. It has a lifetime warranty, so I'm sure that S&W will make it right. The only problem is, I'm postponing any future purchases of any S&W product until this is resolved.

I did. I have a XD .45 and like it very much, however the height of the XDM ruled it out for this purpose.

Yeah, my only problem with my XD9 was the high bore axis. Compared to Glock and S&W M&P, it is like a skyscraper. The XD9 is a great gun, other than the original trigger. I replaced it with a drop-in kit from PRP which was expensive but worth it. My daughter has it now for home protection. She loves it.

Update on my M&P 9c second trip to S&W for the original repair of ejecting brass-to-face (BTF). During the first repair, they replaced the barrel (I would have suspected the extractor or ejector) and when it returned, it still ejected every single shot to my face (3 types of ammo). I returned it the second time and they sent it back saying that it performed fine during 4 magazines. I took it to the range and it performed flawlessly. Somehow, it got healed. Anyway, I'm happy now.
Now about the gritty trigger, for some reason when I dry-fire it, the trigger feels gritty and heavy. However, when I fire it at the range, it feels smooth and lighter. This is the only pistol that has done this for me. Another mystery. Again, I'm happy and I plan to keep the pistol for my cc gun.

+1 on taking a look at the sig P320C or SC
I have a shield and almost bought a 9C the other day until someone let me hold a P320. I didn't get to shoot it, but it instantly became "my next purchase". Grip felt great the trigger was really good. Just waiting for them to start shipping the mass compliant
ones so I can actually buy one.
