M&P 9mm compact?

I've had my 9c for just under two weeks and I've put about 200 rounds through it. Every shot fired perfectly. I e-mailed S&W for the grip extension and it came today (about a three day turn-around.) I selected this gun because I have a full-size .40 M&P and I love it. Certain holsters will work perfectly with both guns.

My 9c has 300ish rds through it and is a champ! It has taken 3 varmints and one deer. I reckon I am gonna swap her soon though to get a 45......love the 9 but need to consolidate calibers. Anyone got a well used Colt Defender they'd swap?....sorry for hijacking the thread. My 9c is awesome. You will like yours.

I have 1000 rounds through my 9C and never any problem except 147 grain ammo slows down the action of the slide. Mine came with one flat base and one finger grip extension.

About 3-4K through mine without a single problem including at least half 147gr through it. Mine came with 1 flat and one extension and the 2 free mags were flat. And I hope the person that recommended a barrel swap for a 40 meant a 40/9 conversion barrel.

I own the M&P Pro and Compact, and both I'm happy with, east breakdown for cleaning and haven't had any dud round not firing.

excuse me - barrel change all need to go from .40 to 9

Why just get a 9c? If you get a 40c for an extra $80 you can buy a 9mm barrel and shoot either!
Have been researching a replacement for my Taurus PT 709 (it is heading to the shop again and I bought it in mid January) and saw this reference to a .40 M&P compact being able to switch to 9 mm with just a barrel change. Now that would be nice. Are barrels expensive.
Also, I see few references to M&P Compacts with thumb safety. That is a feature I like about my PT 709 (that and second strike). Any mechanical reason for not wanting a thumb safety?
