I recently got a M&P 9mm Pro with the worst trigger I have ever felt. It was horribly gritty feeling. I took the slide off and could feel the ridges on the trigger bar where it hits the striker safety plunger.

I knocked out the roll pin, removed the sear block and smoothed the trigger bar with 1200 grit.

Gun now has no gritty take up, and I can forgo the apex stuff for now.

Its a real shame s&w can't make a trigger bar that's not buggered from the start.

Mine was gritty too. Dry firing and 100 rounds so far and now it's SWEEEEEEEEEEET.

You guys would think Im nuts but I personally don't mind that gritty pull at all. To each their own I guess.

Well....gritty slop in pre-travel for sure. But my pro breaks like glass. I am concerned about keeping this gun IDPA legal so I will forego the APEX FSS and consider the USB and trigger bar polish instead.

Opps. Dog barking distracted me.

Meant to type. Concerned about keeping this gun IDPA legal, so FSS is out and I am considering the USB and trigger bar polish instead.

I'm really surprised at the amount of complaining about this trigger. I mean this is a great gun, but it is made at the absolute lowest price point. You can't expect the same quality trigger as on a $2K gun.

As the OP said, it's easy to make a little better. No need to bash S&W for it. I for one am glad that we can buy an American made gun of this quality for so little.
