With the hot weather joined fancy air conditioned Indoor Range with 15- 25 yard lanes and two 100 yard electronic rifle sight in tubes. Fired my M&P sport for the first time in several months bench rest ,25 yards , Frontier .223 55 gr . Was hitting left with rear sight adjusted all the way left made corrections using KY Windage. Will heavier grain make any difference? Seems last time several months ago outdoors the rifle performed better with .556 62gr , I also have .223 68 and 75 gr. Also targets at 25 yards has become blurred can barely make out the red center so looking for optics for both .556 and 15-22.

Mine seems to do well inside of 100 yards using 55 grain 5.56 M193. Out to 300 the 62gr M855 green tip seems to do better for me. All of this is using an ACOG. I would get a decent optic, and shoot from a bench using a variety of ammo allowing time for the barrel to cool between shots. I'm sure your rifle will have a particular weight of bullet that it prefers, but if you're having trouble keeping the groups tight at 25 yards using irons, I would definitely recommend an optic.

Thanks, making a list of optics and sure most of the problem is me. Mine likes Green Tips also but not allowed at Indoor Range , I have few boxes Frontier 62 ,68 and 75 gr .

Not sure I understand, as moving the rear sight left will move POI to the left... if the round is striking left, you should move the sight to the right to adjust.

IIRC, the Sport 2 comes with the MBUS plastic flip up rear sight? We use these as back ups on our issued ARs, and they are not particularly good quality. I've seen many of them that had to be adjusted to the limit to get the rifle zeroed.

Bullet weight should not really affect lateral POI, and at 25 yds, you're not going to see a lot of vertical spread with different bullet weights anyway.

Optics are great on ARs, just make sure the optic matches the mission. ;)

Sounds like you have at least two issues. The blurred targets could indicate you need vision correction.

Moving your rears sight left, moves the bullet impact left. If you want to upgrade your rear sight, try the Troy Fixed Battle Sight.

We all must admit that at some point in our life. Were going to need a little help in the vision department. You might try a set of Reading Glasses. They might help you. I use a set when I am shooting. The target is blurry, but I can see the sights.

Unless your first post was a typo, let us know what happens when you move the rear sight to the right, and if you get zeroed without moving it entirely to the right.
