Hello,

After watching several u-tube video about the M&P BG 380 it's been said, "apparently" the the newer 2014 and newer model (without laser sight) are slightly heavier then the ones with laser sights...

any thought or have you heard same? if so, why would that be?

Thanks

great little sidearm.

Mine is 10.8oz unloaded. 14.3oz fully loaded (6+1). It does have a RTK trigger and other Galloway components.

I never trust advertised weight. If you're worried this pistol is in any way "heavy", it is not. Easily under half the weight of most full-sized pistols.

I like to travel light as possible. Posted reviewer of the BG 380 said puzzled as to why absent laser sight the pistol was slightly heaver... but failed to elaborate.Maybe his scale is off.

Thanks

how do you like the trigger and parts from galloway, do they improve reliability any?

I have had the no laser model since Feb., put 600 + rounds through it absent any problems whatsoever and am very happy. It's slightly lighter than my 442 but much easier to carry and very accurate. It is a bit heavier than some of the other tiny .380s but that helps at the range, and does not detract from how easy it is to always have with you.

Never had any reliability issues with the gun, factory or modified. No light strikes or malfunctions to report out of 3 different magazines and about 5 different types of ammo JHP and FMJ (even +P). The new trigger pulls and resets 35% shorter than the stock one, it is about twice as wide and really improves the gun for me.

Well, the BG380 for me, isn't the greatest gun to fire.

-Ive learned it doesn't like Fiocchi FMJ (Brass FMJ)- Stovepipes alot and very very dirty ammo.
-Fires Federal Premium FMJ 95gr perfectly. Only had 1 FTEject on the first mag through it and never a problem since then. (80rnds)

-Ive only fired one round of Winchester FNFMJ 95gr and it did fine. Barrel was clean after the shot. So clean burning powder was used in this batch. Slightly less recoil than the Federal though.

-The trigger is VERY VERY VERY long in the pull. I would have much rather had a heavier pull with a shorter stroke. Its hard for anything but small hands to pull the trigger reliably.

-It is VERY VERY accurate however. I was able to place 2 shots within 3" of each other at 50-55yds consecutively.

Considering getting a Shield now though.

Personally, a striker fired BG380 would be AMAZING.

I used "Precision One" and or Underwood Extreme Penetrator only. My BG 380 (all stock) never a light strike and it's my primary carry with Kusiak holster which sticks to my skin on these very hot days we are having in Washington State. (Happy 4th to you all) let freedom ring!
