Owning several S&W's I wanted something small to wear with shorts in the summer. Sense the Ruger LCP I bought was a piece of garbage, I sold it and bought the 380 M&P. I had some problems with the slide locking back and failure to feed on last round. No big deal. I sent it back and they fixed it. When I got the gun back I was looking at it. I noticed a scratch on the side of the slide. When I took the slide off and turned it upside down, it looked like the moron who worker on the gun put it in a vise. He must of tightened the vise so hard that he actually smashed the slide (see pics). After some yelling and getting a supervisor on the phone they made good on it buy sending me a brand new gun. I know accidents happen. Just couldn't believe they would even let something go out like that ! I then got the second one back FOUR times with the same problem ! That means there all junk ! They fianally admitted they couldn't fix it and bought it back. I just bought a new 642 and I'm having problems with that. I do own a Shield 9 with over 3500 rounds thru it. So far so good. If I start having problems with that I'm finished with new S&W guns ! There qaulity control and customer service has really diminished over the years.

Sorry to hear about your problems with your guns. I just got a Bodyguard recently and I love it. It shoots everything and I haven't had any problems with it. I've fed it several types of ammo with no problems...including Tulammo.

I also have two 642's and both of those shoot well too. The finish will wear off on them though. I've had one refinished by S&W, but not a single problem with them function wise.

Sorry to hear about your problems. I've got 4 M&Ps, one being a police trade in and never any hiccups.

Best!
