My collection 9c, shield, full 9 and 45 Shot the .40c Today at the range. Not a huge fan of that .40c.

Seemed real jumpy. Generally don't like the compacts unless they have the finger ext on the mag. So that might be most of the dislike. Give to give it another try tomorrow at the range. I have been wanting one maybe just talking myself out of another one

nice start to your collection....I say that cause it sounds like you will be trading the 40c for something else...shoot it more you might like it

The finger extension helps a lot. I find that my 40C shoots about the same as my FS M&P40. I put a full size mag in the 40C with an X-Grip & I can hardly tell the difference. Without the finger extension it takes some getting used to. My 40C came with 3 mags, two of which with the extension, one without. I promptly called S&W CS & asked for an extension. They sent me two free of charge.

S&W is sending me two finger grooves to me for free....quick email is all it took.
I bought a few at speed shooter specialists too. Whatever you do...don't over pay for them.
It is snappy. But damn is it ever accurate...love shooting mine.
Got mine used with night sights...will be my edc.

Yes, the 40c will have a little more "flip" than the 9c. That's just the nature of the larger bullet.

Were you shooting 165 or 180 grain bullets? If it was the 180 grain, try the 165. It won't make a huge difference, but it will make some. Personally I prefer the 165 grain bullets when shooting .40S&W rounds.
