I just purchased a new 9C. I liked the look and feel better than the XD and the Glock compact. How does the SW compare from someone who knows these guns? I got it at Academy for 519.00. Good price? Thanks for your comments and info

The 9c is a great gun. I like it better than an XD but personal preferences will definitely vary!

I think $519 is too much for the gun, but demand is high right now. There is (or was) a 3953 with 8 mags for sale in the classified section here for $350. The mags alone are worth $250! The 3953 and the 9c are nearly identical in size and I would prefer the 3953 over the 9c, but again, that's me and not you.

If you like the gun that's al that matters. In a few years who will care what you paid for it? Mine has never failed to fire and the finish is tough as nails. I like the fact you can use full size mags at the range.

The only issue I ever had with my 9c was the take-down lever wanting to pop back up while I was removing the slide. It's an easy fix if yours does that.

Overall I love my 9c and I'm sure you will love yours. There isn't much not to love... ;)

Academy just bumped their price from $500 to $520 about 2 weeks ago. Buying the pistol new, today, that's pretty close to the going rate that I saw before I bought mine. [$500 before the price jump at Academy]

Both are great guns. Get what fits and you like. Both will perform equally, I personally like the 9c most!

Just bought a 9c for 399.00 on sale. So far 100% reliable with 110 rounds through it. I love this gun!

I have the 9c and my son has the xdsc. Both are great guns I like my 9c for the ergonomics. There almost identical in size but the 9c just feels smaller in the hand and its lighter and conceals better.

I have been on this forum for a little while and I just joined. I picked up an M & P 9C on December 28th. I paid $455.00 for mine. It came with three magazines and with night sights. What an awesome gun. I have put about 300 rounds through it so far with no problems.

It is CRAZY what places are charging for the guns right now.....but hey, I guess if they can then why not? I got my FS MP 9 for $450 three weeks ago at a LGS here in Columbus, OH. I really want a 9c or Shield, but I think I will wait till the craziness dies down.

Picked up my 9c on Wednesday. $500. with 3 magazines. Haven't fired it yet maybe tomorrow. FYI. I called S&W and asked how to purchase the pinky grip for the magazines, and they said they would just send two out.
Now THAT's customer service.

I got the 9c after looking at several compacts including Glock, Kahr, Taurus, and several others. It just felt better in my hand and so far it's been a good decision, it's a job to shoot and easy to maintain.

Cabela's wanted $585 for a "pre-owned" 9c. I purchased a brand new 9c at a LGS for $509.

In my area the M&P 9c has been going for $495 but prices may have gone up with the current panic.

Don't feel bad though, during the last panic (2008 - 2009) I paid $525 for my M&P 9c.

I don't regret it though. At about 13K rounds, never a problem and no need for Apex. Trigger was smooth right out of the box.

my new 9c

I bought my 9c for $568. :( I was going to buy a couple months ago and maby I should have. But after reading here about what people paid and I really don't feel to bad about what I paid Like one of the post said it was what I wanted, and from what I've read about the how reliable the gun is it's worth it. Can't wait to shoot it.:D

I spent 519, too, which in my area was competitive. I could have bought last summer at a show for 425. Live and learn.
