I don't think the Army will select the M&P. It goes against everything the Army has stood for for the last 200 years.

The M&P is simple to operate, ambidextrous, simple to field strip and thereby easy to clean and maintain, all the parts swap without gun smithing and the grip can be changed to fit many different hand sizes. Sorry, but this just isn't what the Army wants. They want complicated, difficult to maintain equipment that requires specialized training to keep running. No, I don't think it will win.

For the sarcasm challenged, the above was said completely tongue in cheek.
