prices on Ebay...the mentality of it all

I'm a lot like @rwsmith, especially when selling. I hope and pray I don't ever get in a bind and have to sell guns below market to get by. When I buy a gun which is way too often, obviously I want to buy as cheap as possible, but my main goal is to buy at a price where I can get my money back as a worse case scenario if I decide to sell. On occasion I will pay a little over market level if it's something I really want. I figure the more I shoot and enjoy a gun, then if I lose a few bucks, it's no big deal figuring in the enjoyment I had.

I just got scammed on eBay last week. I wanted an old school 12v spotlight to leave in my truck. $23 shipped. I got a fake tracking number and item never showed up. Interesting thing is the tracking number was for a package delivered to a house a 1/2 mi down the road from me???????????? How'd they do that? My via card instantly reversed the charge. If you're going to scam someone, why $23 ? Seems like a lot of work for little pay off.
