Stopped by the LGS today and picked up a Shield EZ 9mm and a Mission First Tactical holster for same. This weekend I'll break it in at the local gun club.

The Holosun 507C has recently migrated to the 2.0 since the 508T I ordered in March still hasn't arrived... and the .22 Compact now has Dawson sights because I got tired of looking for the rear sight blade every time I shot it...
I’m seriously considering putting a Holosun on my M&P .45 compact. I noticed that your slide doesn’t looked milled . What is required to mount the 507c on the slide ?

Both my 1.0 Pro and 2.0 are "C.O.R.E." M&Ps... they're milled from the factory and come with the mounting plates for the various optics.

Not sure if they make the .45 Compact in an optics ready version, but my suggestion would be to buy a factory gun that's optics ready if they make one and sell/keep the other one.

So you wouldn’t recommend sending out the slide to have it milled?

As with any custom gunsmithing, you're throwing the S&W warranty out the window, and once it's done it can't be undone. If the shop screws it up, you're, well, screwed. Milling the slide is also going to cost $200+ with refinishing.

In my mind, it makes more sense to sell the gun you have, and buy a factory gun with the optic cut. It may even cost less than having the slide milled in the current market depending on what you can get the new gun for.

Of course, if they didn't make the model you want with the optic cut, you're kind of stuck if that's the gun you want.

Just picked up my new Shield Plus P.C. I'm still not over the freedom and liberty feeling when I purchase a new weapon in our new home state of Arizona. Having my CCW as well even makes it even easier.

I told the Home FFL person I've been dealing with that when it's as easy as it is my savings account in going to take a hit :). He said "That is one disadvantage of living here".

Really love the design, the ergonomics and the size. Now it's time to expend some of that "precious" ammo I have stashed so I can be confident with it as my daily carry.

Got my first Shield. Shes a 2.0. I traded a Bolt Rifle to a buddy that just got a Plus. Super stoked to shoot her after work tomorrow. I've named her Agent May.
