I saw tonight on buds a new M&P 9c w/No Manual Safety for $439.
Then S&W has a $50 mail in rebate so brings it to $389. Is this a good deal or can I do better?

I do not know what shipping is or what my local dealer would charge for FFL. This is my first gun so need to go talk to them more and ask.

I haven't noticed them any cheaper. But, if your dealer is a regular "stocking dealer" (traditional gun shop or sporting goods dealer) as opposed to a home-based FFL, you may not find much savings because of what they will charge you to do a transfer. Most traditional gun sellers would rather have you buy a gun from their stock rather than special order you one, because of the pfofit margin and the need to turn over merchandise. Discuss the cost of the transfer with the potential dealer ahead of time and make sure they are clear about it.

Shipping is included in the price when you buy from Bud's. They do charge a 3% premium if you use a credit card and shipping insurance is around $5.

If you check their law enforcement site they have the M&P for $399 minus the rebate. They have a long list of qualified positions that can take advantage of the price, not just LEO's but firemen, military, EMT's, etc, you'll have to check it to see if you qualify because it's an extensive list.

That is a good price as long as the transfer cost to a local dealer is less than $50. Also the S&W deal is $50 off or two extra mags and if I was you get the extra mags as they are worth at least $30 each.

Will is correct. The two extra mags is a much better deal as the mags retail for $41 each and most sources sell them for $35 or more. Occasionally, you can find them for $30, but that's about the best you'll ever find. My new M&P357 will be in tomorrow and I'm putting in for two extra 15 round mags.

i saw this rebate the other day. IN my opoinion, they are a great gun, and with the rebates/mags. its fantastic

I was checking out the M&P's at a local stocking dealer today and they wanted $579 for an M&P .40 and $779 for one with Crimson Trace grips. They weren't budging on the price either, I asked. The Crimson Trace grips were pretty trick, but not that kind of money trick!

Too expensive. I wouldn't pay more than $500 or so for a fullsize M&P40. Bud's Gun Shop has the MA-spec model I'm considering for $489 shipped.
