Hey guys, I'm sure this has been asked before, but i want to ask it with a different angle in mind.

Is there a difference between the lowers of the M&P9 fs and M&P9 pro 5in lowers?

Im not asking with the intention of swapping uppers, but for holster making.

I own a hybrid M&P, it has the lower of a standard FS but the upper of a 5in pro....I'd like to make a holster for a buddy of mine, but i want to make sure that there isn't any small measure of difference that could negatively effect the seating and retention of the holster.

Thanks guys!

I have a 5" 9mm and a FS 40. If I swap the uppers they each fit in their respective comp Tac holsters as they should.

I just picked up a long slide Pro to go along with my FS and 9c. They all fit in the same open bottom holsters: Blackhawk Askins, SERPA, Fobus paddle and Safariland.

The only difference is how far the barrel extends. Some the 9c doesn't quite fill it up,some the FS hangs out a little. In all holsters, the long slide hangs way out, not enough to cause a problem just the front sight doesn't get caught while drawing. My concerns are that the fiberoptic might get damaged, on muzzle prints wherever I sit, like sometimes I have to drive with the pistol holstered and the FS has printed the seats of my truck before.

P.S. i didn't mention this in the OP but a 5in upper is slimmer than the standard FS uppers.
So if any of you guys start with a 5in custom made holster, your FS will not fit it because it will be to tight
