I have an M&P Pro Core 5" 9mm with a Burris Fastfire 3 mounted on it. I have shot about 100 rounds through the gun so far give or take. I took it out today to shoot and everything was previously cleaned and lubed. The issue I had today is that everytime I would load a round about 85% of the time I would say the round would not chamber, and get jammed between the slide and part way into the barrel. I tried 3 different mags, Winchester bulk 9mm white box, American Eagle, and Priv Partizan 115gr. All had the same issue with every mag. I even mixed up some ammo and the same thing. I do not know why this issue is happening. The first 100 rounds went flawlessly and the gun is dead on. Punching holes through holes. Please someone help for I just sell this gun lol

Not sure what to tell you, somethings changed since your first hundred rounds. I've heard stories where some have had feeding problems when the pistols were new. I didn't have any sort of problem with my Core 9, I've put a lot of rounds through it since I got it last June (~35K). Make sure you have lube on the bearing points on the frame, a sticky slide could cause this (but that's just a WAG on my part) Hopefully things will free up as you get some rounds through it. The only time I've had problems with feeding is when I was experimenting with different lengths of rounds (I handload all my ammo) and the shorter ones were a little touchy but that shouldn't be a problem if you're using "store bought" ammo.

The slide is not the issue. It slide perfectly. I don't know if it's common but I do notice that the slide has some wiggle in it on the frame. It can be wiggled left to right quite a bit. But this should not affect the chambering of the round. Nothing has changed but the fact I now have the Burris Fastfire mounted on the pistol

So this only happens with the first round when you put a new magazine in and rack the slide? And this has started happening after you but the Burris reflex sight on? Maybe having the new sight has changed the way you rack the slide? Just a thought. Maybe you could try taking the Burris off and see if the problem persists.

This happens with every single round that tried to chamber. Yes the recoil spring is on correctly. I'm just baffled as to why it's happening because I know a lot about firearms

This is what is happening

That striker pin should not be sticking out like that. Something is wrong in the striker assembly. Either the spring is broken or the striker block is not working like it's supposed to. That shouldn't be possible. When you put the reflex sight on, did you do something to the striker block?

Nope haven't touched it. I know it shouldn't be doing that but everything is operating as it should. Well appeared to be. What else could be causing this? When I clear the round it goes back in and the next round chambers. After every fired round that is what happens

Have you done any trigger work? I'm thinking maybe something in the timing of the sear release and the striker block release. Something is definitely wrong there. My next step would be taking the striker out and making sure there's no gunk in the channel and both the springs on the striker assembly are good.

I polished the parts. That's about it. Everything was reassembled correctly. This issue happened before polishing the parts. If you look back at my original post. I polished the parts hoping it would solve the problem. So now I'm out of ideas. I'm really thinking about selling it after it's fixed. This gun has me ticked off!! To much money for something like this to happen

I just read your OP and don't see where you mentioned polishing, but that's immaterial. Whether you sell it or not is up to you. I've got over 35,000 rounds through my CORE 9 since last June with no problems. That being said, judging by your pictures, the fact remains that there is something wrong with your pistol. So now you have to make a choice. Either send it in to S&W, get a gunsmith to look at it, or pull the striker like I suggested. I guess there is a 4th option, you could keep asking what's wrong with your pistol on various forums and get lots of opinions from people like me. Your choice.

I'm just disappointed in the gun at this point. I'm going to pull the striker and see what the problem is. I'll post picks of it and maybe y'all can see something I am not. I only ask on this forum... Well because it's a S&W forum filled with people with experience on these guns!

If you can, take a picture of the striker channel as well, it might help someone identify the problem. Trying to diagnose mechanical problems over the internet is very difficult.;) I'm off to my daily range time so I'll take a look when I get back if you haven't gotten the answer by then from someone else (hopefully you will, there's really not a lot of things that can go wrong with these pistols which is why I prefer them.).

I see your problem, you're missing (or it's broken) a spring on the striker assembly. Give me a couple of minutes and I'll take some pictures. (just got back from the range and am eating lunch). Well I have to somewhat retract the statement about the spring, I thought the inner spring on the striker assembly could be seen with the assembly out of the pistol, but I can see that your striker is too far forward in relation to the striker block. compare my pictures below to yours. Can you push the striker forward without pushing down on the striker block? If so then I'm going to be suspicious of the striker block.

Then it did not come from the factory with one because I have never taken it apart

But thanks for figuring out!!! Lol though I was gonna have to sell it had me so mad!

I may be wrong about the spring (see my previous post, I updated it) You can check for the spring by pushing the white plastic piece with your thumb while pulling back on the striker with your finger, it's a very small spring. I'm not convinced that's the problem though, but we are getting closer.

It's not the striker block. It will not allow the striker to go forward without depressing it.
