M&P Safety?

Is the only difference between a Shield and BG2 with or without thumb safety, is the actual manual safety; as in all the internal safety and build is the same. If I carry thumb safety model safety off would be same as a no safety model? No other internal differences?

I know that's the case with the Shield and other M&Ps, so I assume it is with the BG2. However, I have no official confirmation for you.

The drop safety plunger is the same function/feature.
In being honest.. I looked at a disassembly video of the BG. The trigger bar and rear sear housing block assembly do not look the same as the Shield and other M&P lineup.

That’s not to say the function isn’t exactly the same.

I’ve shot a BG 2.0 at the range, rental. I haven’t torn one down or worked on one.
I’d say the safeties serve the same purpose, between the trigger safety blade and the striker safety/plunger.

But I don’t feel confident in saying they work exactly the same.
