M&P Shield 9mm 1.0

I just put a S/W M&P Shield 9mm 1.0 on layaway and will get after Christmas next Friday. I got a deal on it new for $284 out the door price. Do you think that was a good buy? I sold my old Shield 1.0 about a year ago and regretted it.

Sounds like a deal to me. Got my 9 & 40 for $300 + tax ($321). The 45 was a bit more and was hard to find. Except for the 45, the other 2 are both Gen 1 and I'm fine with that. All my handguns are stock, no mods; I see no reason to fix things that aren't broke.

Decent price...I was at my LGS Friday...he quoted me $245+tax on a 9mm 1.0 Shield. Think everyone is trying to sell them out now that the 2.0 is selling well. His gun of choice that he carries is a 1.0 Shield 45. I would expect all 1.0's to drop a little bit more after Christmas.

I purchased one early on when they were harder to get. I needed it for a scheduled retired LE shoot. I paid way too much for it and now cry at the prices that they are going for new.

Me too! I could get two now for what I paid for one with a green CT Laser.

A Shield under $300 is always a good deal. I think everyone is right on track about the prices going down on 1.0 Shields. My Shield .45 was $258 and the Shield PC .40 was $251 OTD. The 2.0's are well above those prices and just not appearing as used in the display case.

I paid $525.00 for mine, when they first came out. Just had to have it. Kinda put it on a self when I bought the 637. But still shoot it and carry it some in a Sticky holster.

I would've bought on the spot. My LGS is a joke with pricing and I basically have to order all my guns online for fraction of local price. My transfer guy is $20/per which is usually less than local sales tax anyways. It would just be nice to be able to walk into a brick and mortar store and pay what I can get it for online or within a couple bucks of it.

Yes, you got a good deal. I bought mine a few weeks after the 2.0 version came out and paid $349.00 out the door. I want another one because I like the 1.0 so much.

A few years ago I paid over $600 bucks for a 9mm Shield 1.0 with the CT green laser from the factory....now you can get a Shield for $250 and install the CT laser yourself for under $400 total. I could never get the money back for what I paid for my Shield...even with all the add ons I've made...so when I die...it's going to hell with me. Also I'm seeing more and more used Shields (and others) up for sale at local gun stores....nothing wrong with a used gun if it was well maintained.
