While most of my postings are in the wheelgun side of the house I have had a few M&Ps over the years. The last was 2.0 Compact 4", wonderful pistol but I kept going back to my 1911s.

Recently I was at a shop for transfers on a couple of sales (here in Colorado unless it's a c&r all private sales require the background/ffl services since July 2013). As I was waiting for one of the buyers to show up I'm looking over the case and spot a really nice looking 5". It was marked as a "Spec Series". In addition to all the usual stuff it has a neck knife/scabbard, challenge coin (neither of those are important to me) and comes with night sights-that's more important. Plus I really like the trigger of the 2.0. The one I handled in the shop seems to have a slightly lighter trigger with shorter reset than the other 2.0 models they had.

I ask to look at it and dang, love the balance/feel of it. The shop has it priced at $600 with no wiggle room. Well last night I hit the web, see the model on a popular auction site as well as a few of the big online stores.

I found it for $450/$466 shipped. Couldn't say no, who knows if I could have beat that on an auction but we all know how that goes. Should have it at my preferred ffl by the end of next week depending on the USPS.

Very much looking forward to getting it. Ahh, hard to beat a good impulse purchase LOL.

Congrats on your find. I was able to pick up a compact 2.0 in 9mm, slightly broke in for 330 OTD in January before all this craziness.

I just bought the spec kit on sale at my LGS for $499, plus sales tax. I really like it and they were selling the spec kit with the nigh sights cheaper than the regular M&P9 2.0 with the 4 1/4 inch barrel and standard sights. Very nice gun out of the box.

Congrats, I think you'll really like it. I picked up extra mags online from Greg Cote, LLC. He had the best total price I could find.

My shop charges $25 for transfers-that can either be in cash or used to get something in the store at equal or greater price. I've got some older gen 1 mags that I got about 10 years ago when I bought a bunch of stuff in a big box lol.

I'll get some more ammo most probably.
