M&P Spec Series V

Picked it up earlier, went through it top to bottom.
Tight and right.

I did not loctite the comp on, but I did make sure the pinch bolt was tight, set screw properly set.
I may run a friend’s suppressor just because… but I’m just not a big fan of a can on a pistol.

It lasted about 10 minutes at my house before I threw my available DPP on, until my 507Comp gets in the mail. While I’m not overly concerned about POA/POI with irons, since I’ll be 100% red dot on this.. as is, the DPP does not allow co-witness, which I expected. But I may zero the dot and check L/R POA/POI with and w/o comp.

My only gripe right off the bat, the trigger has a lot of pre-travel. Yep, that’s it.
And yes.. I know in proper shooting that’s really not a big deal.
I am really liking the weight of it, feels very similar to my old Canik Rival S I had, which was a great shooter.

Nice and functional case.
I honestly could care less about the challenge coin, just give me an additional magazine at that point.
The knife is nice. It’ll be a great range bag addition.

It was pretty clean from the factory, I’ve seen more fouled up guns. Gave it a quick strip, wipe down and oil job.. I hit the trigger bar with some 3000 grit and oil where it hits the plunger for all of a few minutes. I’ll get some rounds down range necessitating a properly cleaning before I polish that up.

5 test pulls on my Lyman, 3lb 8oz average.
Will report back with a range report once I can get out… S&W really outdid themselves on look/finish of this pistol.

About 100 plus down range, no pics… but it’s a nice shooter.
Half way in the first mag, stove pipe. Cleared it. Wife shot it, got a stove pipe.
That was in the first two mags. Shot each mag again full, zero issues. Another couple mags, no issues. I did wipe it down and oil it prior to the range trip. Typically…I take a gun out of the bag new, add a few drops of oil, and hammer it.

I put a DPP on it from the go, a few clicks here or there, dialed in at 10 yards.. it’s a shooter for sure.
I’ll have more time, outdoors, this weekend and with my other new pistol, the Springfield Kuna I just picked up. That’s a whole other story…lol.

I’d like to get at least 300 or more down the pipe this weekend to really run it.. but so far, it’s nice.
The weight, flat, stays on target…very little rise/dip. I didn’t get a chance to really run it fast… indoor range rules. But I’ll get plenty of double, triple taps and mag dumps this weekend outdoors. Impressed so far. And damn it is a looker.
