My first AR. It's bone stock the way it came. Pics are dark because the lighting here isn't good and all I have is a phone. It came with a soft case, 5 mags and 100 rounds of ammo.

Very nice! I got mine as part of a promotion with that same bag. I liked the bag so much I bought one for my 15-22 as well. The Sport II is a lot of fun and has been very reliable running my reloads.

I just bought an optics ready promotional M&P 15. Ordered it from Buds just as the craziness started but before prices ran up. I bought it as a range toy to keep the round count down on my Daniel Defense DDM4V7 Pro.

I figured the M&P was just a cheap AR but I'm amazed at what I got. It's easily 1 moa at 100 yards, has really good fit and finish and has 100% reliable cycling. Some folks dismiss it for not having a fancy chrome lined barrel with a fast twist. The 1:9 it does have allows great accuracy with lighter bullets and can handle up to 69grain well in my sample. A bore scope shows mine is smooth and has no tendency to copper foul. I'm actually bored of the fast twist/heavy bullet thing going on now in rifles generally.

I think these M&P 15's are a bargain.

I bought my Sport II just before the '16 election. The price plus the flip-up sight sealed the deal. After over 3k rds, often in 1-2 hundred round sessions, it has been trouble-free.
I have changed the furniture, though. First was a Magpul MOE handguard with heat shield which is also very comfortable in my hands. Then I went with an MFT Minimalist buttstock, and finally a Magpul K2 pistol grip; the more vertical angle of the pistol grip feels surprisingly good.
I didn't make the changes at once; I handled and shot extensively before making changes.

That's good to hear coming from a DD guy ...

I think the Sport II is the best of the consumer grade ARs. My kid has one. It doesn't have a million rounds through it, but works fine. Trigger is better than my 6920.

Before the Panic they sold for $499. I think that's a bargain for what you get.
