I have a chance to buy a sporter complete upper
Questions
1. Will it fit on a Mil Spec lower
2. is it standared AR ....can I change out the Reciever for one with a dust cover and foward asst?
3. Does the barrel extention have the M4 ramps?
4. will the 1 in 8 twist shoot 55gr bullets well?
It is Thursday 1/5/2012 I have to deside by 7:30PM Eastern time

2. Yes, but when will you ever need them? As some have said on here before, unless you're belly crawling through a sand storm in BFE, those things are near useless. After shot number one, the DC stays open anyway. But you asked if it was swappable, and it is.
3. Yes
4. Yes. I have shot 1 MOA groups and smaller at 100 yds with my Sport (using XTac 5.56, smaller still with Federal 223). I have learned however, that the Black Hills 69 gr. is even better. For plinking, 55 gr is adequate. 62-69 is deadly for yotes and deer in my experience.

Depending on the price of the upper, it might not be worth the time or effort to put all that work into it. You could just order up a complete Palmetto State Armory upper the way you want it with less headaches.

I can see putting in all the work if you're after the Melonite barrel.
