Hi all. I am getting into USPSA Production (if I ever find some mags for this darn thing!!!) and I need some help. I got a little over-zealous and purchased several add-ons and now I am thinking that I may end up too heavy. Specs as planned:
M&P Pro 9mm
Dawson F/O front / plain adjustable rear
Apex Comp AEK
Apex RAM
SSS extractor / spring
SSS Tungston guide rod (short)
Uncaptive spring
10-8 magazine floorplate

I don't have all the parts in yet to get a good weight, but I am thinking that I may have to drop down to the SS guide rod, maybe even ditch the RAM. Anyone have experience with this setup? Also, looking to buy mags and mags and Comp-Tac gear. Thanks!

I shoot a 9 Pro 5" in Production, but without the mods you listed.
Personally, the first thing I'd forget if in weight trouble is the aftermarket guide rod, which only adds the weight and offers no functional improvement. The captive recoil spring arrangement is more reliable than the uncaptive springs.

Comp Tac gear is good, and they are IDPA sponsors.

Well I am somewhat shocked. I installed everything but the mag base pads because they won't arrive until Monday. According to my scale I am right at 26.3oz. I am trying to track down another scale to confirm this but I expected it to be heavier. I didn't weight the stock pistol, anyone know what the Pro 9 w/o safety/disconnect/lock weighs?

FYI, weight checks are done on the complete gun, including an empty mag.
For USPSA official weights, go back to post 2 above and follow tomcatt's link.

Well the list says : M&P Pro series 5" 9mm (29.2 oz.). I just make that, but the way that I understood it is that you could go 2oz heavier than the list weight (31.2oz). Does anyone have an accurate weight on the stock M&P Pro 9? I am curious to see how much I have added. There wasn't much to complain about with the stock pistol. I wanted adjustable rear sights, the Apex kit put my trigger down to 2lbs8oz and approximately 1/8" reset (with a little love), the SSS extractor sure doesn't hurt anything, and being a 1911 guy I felt the pistol was too light at the muzzle so the tungston rod helps that some. I did weigh it with an empty mag FYI, but thanks for pointing it out as it is important! I ran 100 rounds thru the gun today without a single hiccup, more testing will follow but I am a happy camper so far.
