M&P without rail

I may be one of the few, if not the only one, who doesn't like rails on his handguns. While it probably wouldn't be of general interest, and that's why S&W probably never will do it, I'd like to have a M&P without the rail (in other words, a smooth dust cover.) I think they look particularly "saw toothed." I've even thought about having the rail removed, but it probably can't be done without weakening the frame.

I know...just ignore it...but I think the M&P line would be a much better looking gun without the rail. Just look at the Shield...that's what I wish they all looked like! :)

there are folks that remove the beavertail on the M&P, they should be able to remove the ugly rail too.

I asked about that once, and the general consensus (here) was that it would weaken the frame. I haven't checked with one of the firms that actually does the work...why, I don't know.
