Last year I was asked to help a friend zero his new rifle, an S&W M&P10. I had heard about them but had never seen one or handled one. The day came that we had scheduled to zero his rifle and he let me do all the shooting. I was really impressed, I wanted one. Over the next few months I started looking at them and I made the descion to pick one up. As I looked at the models I noticed the hunting model and the state compliant model did not have the barrels tapered to the pencil profile and that appealed to me. I purchased the model 811310 State compliant model.
My overall all plan was to model the styling of this gun to look like a Knights Armament SR-25EC/M110K1, beautifually awesome looking guns but waay ot of my price range.
So I took the styling features of both guns that I liked and could duplicate and placed them into my build.
I could not find anything close to the URX3.1 in styling and the Knights Rails are ridiculously priced. The Troy MRP is very simular to the the URX on the SR-25EC so I went with it.
I also shortened the bottom rail of the MRP like the URX. I chose the Magpul ACS buttstock and the Magpul MIAD from the M110K1 and the color scheme. Knights cerakote's the M110's, I didn't want to spend that kind of money so I painted my upper and lower with Aervoe Coyote camo paint. It is baked on and should be fairly durable.
Here are a couple of videos of the build.

Now some pics of how it looks today.
I still have a few more thing I want to add.
Griffin Armament Taper Mount Flash Comp 5/8x24 7.62, this is similar to the KAC MAMS but will work with the Griffin Armament PHS Suppressor I hope to purchase next month.
MBUS® Pro Offset Sight – Front &Rear, again simular to KAC's offset sites but $100.00 less expensive.
Knights Rail Covers (Stippled)
Better glass, the scope is a cheapLeupold knock-off that is only on the gun for pictures. I hope to purchase a SWFA 5-25X50mm Super Sniper for my bolt gun this year and move the Vortex Viper PST 4-16x50mm PST SFP scope to the M&P.
The weight of the gun at this point is 10.8lbs
Total investment so far is $2022.40
Please let me know if you have any questions.
