M&P15-22 lower parts into a real AR lower?

I was wondering if its possible to transplant all the necessary 22lr parts from the polymer lower into a real AR15 stripped lower? I know its not needed but it would just be cool if you could? Just to be different and maybe a little stronger if you were to ever drop it on its tail?

If you could it would probably make mounting QD or Magpul ASAP sling adapters easier too?

Many, not all, of the parts will transfer. Lower parts kits are cheap.

The M&P15-22 upper receiver will NOT, however, fit on an AR15 lower receiver if that's your goal.

The question is why?

And chuck s is spot on. uppers and lowers are not interchangeable.

Only the FCG will transfer, as it's virtually stock AR anyway. The selector will NOT interchange due the difference in width between the two lowers.

Yeah, he has a good point there. I mean, in the 2.5 years I've had my 15-22, I've broken my lower receiver dozens of times.

Oh, "never", I've never broken my lower receiver.
If you want an all metal AR-pattern .22LR, they already make one.
