M&P15-22 Mag development

I've dealt with mold tooling my whole career, from thermoplastics to thermosets. The simple tooling I'm handling now takes approx 16wks and then another 4 after that to go back and forth to get the first articles correct to print, and that is in the US. If you get it done faster than that then you are doing great.

Can't wait to see the product.

Looks like that won't happen. Even the NRA is agreeing on hicap mag bans. Sold out.

there was article about NRA meeting with Biden and then after part of NRA not standing for any more gun restrictions Brainless Biden said after meeting everyone agrees on high capicity mag ban NRA is not a sell out

Doomsday,

If you believe the reports on Fox News today, you'll be just fine selling your product once it is complete.

And with S&W dragging their heels on 25 rounders, there are PLENTY of us ready to hear your announcement of product availability!

I've spent too much time and money on this mag design. Even if a ban goes into effect I already sold enough to myself. Get my drift. The only thing I will be upset about is the money spent on the patent that will not serve any purpose if the Ban happens.

Paper weights. :o It'd be a great paper weight if there is a ban. I'd like to get a few of your paper weights when they get started into production.

It's really getting old hearing about "BANNING" things that no one has a clue about yet.

Dam the torpedoes,FULL speed ahead !!!

Some if not MOST people don't have a clue what it takes to get something into production from a dead start. Everybody wants everything"yesterday" AND it must be flawless, work perfect and never break. And reguardless of that,SOME ONE is ALWAYS going to complain about it... Don't forget about the Just Gotta Have It at ANY Price crowd that never seems to show up when it comes down to the finished product.

I know what you're going through and about to get into DT... Don't give up,keep pushing ahead.

And if you own the patent you can take the design international. I know plenty of owners this side of the pond (both above and below the equator) that would like this. Getting it manufactured in another country and just getting royalties from it may be a way to go.

I thought the same thing when I was quoted a time frame on the molds. The company I deal with is outsourcing them to a company who only deals with injection molding. The rep wont tell me who the company is because he thinks I'm going to bypass them in the future.

Thanks for your statement Maddmax. I myself did not think it would be this long and be this difficult to get things going. But we are getting closer to the finish line.

I was looking into it a couple days ago since the ban will only be here in the States.

im new here but i work in the plastics industry and know that 90+ days to design something from scratch that isnt easy is no time at all.i have literally just read all 14 pages of this thread and can see you have put a LOT of time and effort into these mags.i for one am waiting to pick up my 15-22 and really dont care for the current S&W mag design at all.i dont understand why they are open on the sides for dust and debris to get into other than to allow you to pull the spring down.i personally have never seen a mag like that before and to me they look cheap.i would love to pick up some of your mags if and when you do get them done.i will be following this thread to keep up with your updates and wish you the best and hope you are able to get these made and sell them.if so put me down for at least 10 :) keep your head up and dont let all this political BS get you down or discourage you from trying to make this happen.

I dont want the mag RIGHT NOW. I would like to see the video of the prototype. That would help. I have mags, and have been acquiring more.
I have been following this thread since it began and would like to see the item we are all so excited about.
