This is a carry-over from the thread about the safety plugs for the 22. I shot a little video today trying to show how I believe the firing pin block works. Enjoy.

I'll try to embed it if I get back to a computer tonight.

Dude, great video. There is a pin in the assembly that is next to the safety rod that holds the hammer block in place. As long as that isn't removed, the gun is perfectly safe.

Thanks for the video. That helped me understand the hammer block. Clearly proves has nothing to do with the magazine as was stated in the other thread.

How difficult is it to remove the magazine disconnect? Do you have to fully disassemble the firearm?

The magazine disconnect is easy to get out... It will pretty much fly out when you take the two frame screws off. Putting it back together is the hard part... Unless you just want to strip everything down to polish, it's not really worth taking out...

I did the mag disconnect without a video, but it did feel like it was about to come apart more than I wanted it to. Basically, back the 2 screws out of the internals slowly only enough to remove the disconnect and its spring, then tighten the screws back up.
