M&P40 extractor question

I just picked a M&P40 Pro Series Core with a Trijicon RMR07 and a storm lake 40 to 9mm conversion barrel for $250. It shoots absolutely amazing and 50 yard center mass hits are easy. My question is do I need to put in a new extractor to shoot 9mm with the conversion barrel? It works great now, but I don’t want to start breaking extractors.

The 9mm and .40 use the same extractor, now I don't know if the dimensions of the slide (specifically the distance between the striker hole and the cut for the extractor which may be different) but the parts are the same.
