M&P40 trade-in

Considering picking up a police trade-in M&P40 for USPSA Limited. How are these older 1.0 models as far as trigger, and barrel accuracy in stock configuration?

Was thinking of adding a brass magwell, heavier guide rod, fiber optic front sight, and an apex trigger.

Is this a decent option for a low budget Limited build?

Start with sights and Apex trigger.
May be all you need.
40s seem to be more accurate than the 9s.
Try a Missouri 170 grain coated semi wadcutter over 3.3 grains of either Bullseye or VV N310.

So, the stock M&P 1.0 barrels are plenty accurate?

I don't reload. Any recommendations for factory ammo that will make major power factor without being to hard on recoil. I usually purchase Magtech 180 grain. I've read that the M&P's soak it up pretty well and are soft shooters in .40.
