Hey guys I bought a full size M&P9 a few weeks back and ive been looking for a good iwb holster for it. Ive been concealing big guns since I started carrying so im not worried that its to big of a gun. I have a cheap nylon iwb holster that I used with my Beretta 92 FS and it works but I was wondering if anybody has had any luck with a particular brand or style.

You probably can take a poke in the holster pile and stand as good a chance as not to find one that works well for you . Holsters tend to be like handgun when asked what good . They all work well for some .

Guess yours is a 4.25" m&p??
I used a comp-tac neutral with a different set up . Canted to the rear set high enough to get a grip on it .
I have 10 years with his holster and a couple kydex bodies for different handguns . Tried a couple others but came back to my old comp-tac Check out there line for the mtac , ctac and neutral .

But a desantis , galco , cooks holster or from dara . Maybe a well made leather from Nelson Leather or Wright leather . Good guy's making great holsters

Thanks I will look in to that one and yes it is the 4.25 inch barrel. I am used to older style holsters just because thats what I was raised around and taught with. I brought up a kydex holster to my dad and he about had a stroke but ive met a few people that have really had good luck with them.

I carry a full size pistol virtually every day and am partial to using a hybrid holster (Galco King Tuk) as it prevents pressure on my sciatic nerve which most IWB holsters cause. Am thinking of getting a Crossbreed to try when the Galco get tossed in a couple more years.

Just know if you end up buying a ,,, what I call a basic cross bred style hybrid you may want to option of more adjustment or less noticeable belt clips , Buy comp-tacs belt C-clips . They offer more adjustability than most all others and some use them too . I have used one set of the C clips for the entire 10 years . If you find rig that seems to wide or does not adjust they way you want it , IF rear half is a basic one piece of leather you can punch new holes to skinny it up or change the cant more than it offeres , Even cut away unwanted leather as many leather back halfs come with leather you could want for a 5" but not on a 4" pistol .

My holster was bought for a 3.5" kahr and had to much leather below the holster even for 4" class pistols so I cut it off for a 2:00 carry and after this photo was taken I did trimmed it closer and straighter ! Same holster for the m&p photo and now my sig with only a kydex body change . Several others now offer that too . Good luck .

Ive been using hybrid style holsters for a few of my other pistols and they have always worked great. The only thing I dont really like is there a chore to put on sometimes. No matter what I leave the house with a firearm but I was kinda looking for a a clip on style like the galco triton but its all kydex and I dont like scratching my guns.

A good kydex is slick as can be inside and offers no more wear than a good leather holster will . Now a cheap badly molded leather or kydex will both rub on the finish and cause wear but only faster than a very good holster but they all wear on the finish of the handgun with use and age . Its a working gun to be used and with that wear is normal .

Remember what I wrote earlier . Picking a holster is like picking a handgun . They all work for some and for others they my be junk . I hate skinny single clip holsters for long hard days working !. But there ok for a run to the corner store .

Maybe one of these glove leather lined holsters will work for you and the finish on your pistol .

Those are more what I have been looking for and yeah I agree there not really meant for all day wearing but sadly I cant bring my gun in with me to work anyways so normally I only wear it out of the house for 3 hours at most. The rest of the time I use my hybrids. When I get out of work ive been just looking for something to clip and go. Thank you for your input man its much appreciated.

Hands down, the n82 tactical holster. I have full sized M&P 9, 40 and 45c. Their pro holster is so comfortable I forget I'm wearing it.

I have a N82 Tactical Holster Professional for my Kimber Pro Carry II. It is without a doubt a comfortable holster but the Twist and Release System takes some getting used to when you first draw your pistol. I also have a Crossbreed SuperTuck that I have been very happy with that I purchased when I acquired the Kimber.

I have a Comfort Holsters Jaguar on order for my Shield 9mm LG-489G.

For my compact and full size poly Springfields and M&Ps, I like the versatility of Bravo Concealment's BCA and RTT holsters, having the option to switch from OWB to IWB.

Comp tac Mtac for me!

Milt Sparks Summer Special II. Very comfortable. Not cheap but extremely durable and we'll made. Considered a timeless design for a reason
