A local shop had a used 1.0 version M&P9c for sale. I went to look at it and it came with the case, extra backstrap, 3 mags, a flush mag, a 12rd and a 15rd. It also had fiber optic front and back sights. The original sights are in a baggie in the case.
All these goodies and the sticker price was $299, I got it for $280 out the door. I don't see the compacts for sale very often. I thought it was too good a deal to pass up.

Congratulations . . .
The compacts are a very nice addition to any family

That was a very reasonable deal. The full size magazine should have been a 17 round for a 9MM pistol. The 357/40 full size magazines are 15 round

One of the things that I really like is the fact that a full size magazine can be used as your reload.

X-grip makes a very nice spacer to leave on your full size reload mag. The pistol feels very good in this configuration

I double checked and it is a 17rd mag. It has an X Grip adapter on it.
That 357Sig compact is a nice looking pistol. I recently saw a range report on another site posted by a guy with that pistol. It was a good shooting pistol.
BTW, the range report is on Glocktalk

Nice pickup, versatile package!

Definitely motivation to peruse the local shops

I have a 1.0 9C. Nice handy little gun. I also have a FS so I have a bunch of FS mags (some even 17 rounds!!! I am in CA :( ). With the Xgrips, it's makes a nice package.

I recently picked up a .40 M&Pc that was a Brinks trade in.

Gun looked rough, had some wear on it. Out the door $249.

Tossed some new TruGlo sights on it, runs flawlessly.

At least I thought the wear on it would drive my OCD nuts but I actually like it. Looks "rugged" I guess.

They are definitely great guns. I never liked the 1.0 full size because of that weird beavertail thing they had.

However the 1.0 compact and 2.0s dont have it. Love them both.

In my opinion the 9c is the ultimate concealed carry gun. Carries great, not shaped like a street brick aka Glock . Not to mention great capacity for its size. I've carried one for years . I've carried others but always come back to the 9c.

Great weapon bud
The "C" models are very comfortable to me and I prefer them over many others when it comes to concealment and capacity. Smith& Wesson did some serious design work and the product came out perfect.

I have had my compact for a while and it is great for carry and very accurate. I keep my eye peeled for the police trade in 17 round magazines and grab them when I can. Makes for a great package.

I finally bought an M&P9C after owning 3 FS, 2 Shields, and a BG380. I saw a 9C auction on GB that was close to ending with a very low price, so I placed a bid not really expecting to win. I was very pleased to win the auction, particularly since my total price, shipped and transferred, was $310 ... before S&W's current $40 military rebate.

I have a stock M&P 9C 1.0, no thumb safety, original case, all 3 backstraps, and 5 mags (1 flush fit mag and 4 pinky extension mags). Never had a single malfunction with it. It's in great condition and looks very good no blemishes or anything. How much would this go for if I chose to sell it? Or should I just keep it since they don't make them anymore?

That is one thing I realized about the M&P 40c its identical in size to the Glock 27 (which I owned previously) but with standard mags the G27 held 9+1 and the M&P 10+1.

Of course you can get extended mags for both, bigger base plates but I typically evaluate a gun like this with whats "stock"

Then consider "add ons" later.

Plus the M&P handles the .40 recoil WAY better than Glock in my opinion.

Seven versions of the 9C are still listed on S&W's website and SKU 209304 is readily available from many dealers.

Ah for some reason I though S&W discontinued them when they moved to the 2.0 compact. Good to see they still manufacture the v1.0 9C as a lot of people still like that smaller design.

And you can buy the 15 round magazines for the 2.0 to give it the same grip length as the Shield. That way it is still very concealable like the shield is but it's essentially makes a 1.0 into a 2.0. I have seen magazine spacers for the 15 round magazines on Ebay for $15 that fills the gap between the 1.0 grip base and the 20 15 round magazine. Here is a link to them on Ebay: S&W M&P Compact 1.0 Magazine Spacer for Compact 2.0 15 round magazines | eBay

Raisin,
Looking at the post below yours looks like you have competition on the spacer. For the record just looking at it I think yours are still better.

I love mine it is the only way I will shoot my 1.0 9c now.
If anyone is wanting to use the 15 round 2.0 c mag in the 1.0c ,Raisins adapter is the way to go.
