Wanted to know if a non-M2.0 slide will fit on a M2.0 Frame and vice-versa.

Who here has both and can you check?

Thanks

Based solely on the different slide stop in the 1.0 and 2.0, and the corresponding different notches in the slides of the 1.0 vs. the 2.0, I'd say they are not compatible in stock form. I cannot tell you if the 2.0 slide stop could be installed in a 1.0 frame so as to work with the 2.0 slide. There may be other compatibility issues as well (e.g. the extractor in the 1.0 vs. 2.0 is different).

Can someone post a picture of their non-M2.0 slide? Preferably top down and facing front to rear. I'l do the same with the M2.0 in a little bit.

Updates?

was just discussing this last night.
Have you been able to determine if a 1.0 slide will work on your 2.0 frame yet?
I have a comp'd CORE long slide that I would like to be able to run on a 2.0 frame.
The comp works fine with slower burning powders, but I'd like the option to run factory ammo if I had to.
If the new frames reduce felt recoil as significantly as I've heard, it would be an alternative I'd welcome.

About to finally order my 2.0 and thought I'd check back on this. Since S&W is stating that the strengthening of the 2.0 frame results in reduction of felt recoil, and the fact that they haven't produced a long slide CORE version yet is why I'm interested in being able to transfer my comp'd slide with optic to the new frame. If I have to cut a higher notch at the rear of the recess in the CORE slide to accommodate the new stop design, and not compromise anything, then I'm willing to do that. Even if I can't go back on the original frame with it and have to save that for parts. As soon as I figure out if this is possible, I'll do my best to report back.

It Runs

Just ran my CORE L/S on my 2.0 frame. Worked fine. Slide locks fine. Recoil felt less than normal...good thing.

Why would you want to put an old slide on a new gun? Just curious don't you buy a new gun to shoot it. Not replace it with old parts maybe I'm not getting something here couldn't see an old design work better than a new one but maybe.
