Here is mine 1978, 5" barrel, Mint, came with wooden box, all tools and papers S/N N4327XX. I am third owner, first owner shot it once, second never did. Can someone tell me why it would have Coke grips ? Are they correct for this gun? Any info thanks?

Just lovely.I'm a big fan of five inch 27s,especially with target features.
The grips are non-original,and pre-1968.Doubtful that they surfaced at the factory ten years later and found a home on that gun.Usually found on 29s as well.
Quite a nice bonus!

The stocks are not correct. "Cokes" only came on 41 and 44 Magnums made 1956-1967. But I am not sure these are factory original. They are too pretty. I think they may be Keith Brown's work. He makes "Coke" style stocks but his look much prettier than the originals that tend to have less than spectacular grain.

PS: The number you posted is not a correct serial for a 1970s N frame. There should be a letter N prefix. Either you didn't mention the prefix for some reason or that is an assembly number.

When I had grips of last time they had what looked like the correct medalions back but no stamped initials like KB. Will take better close up of grips and post later today. S/N corrected, forgot the N.

We should all be so lucky, never question why a Smith came with cokes, just be very happy that it did! A very nice M 27 in my favorite barrel length with an equally nice pair of factory GA cokes, pretty hard to top that. I sure would like to find a big load of that wood. (small load would be fine also)

Those are the prettiest "Cokes" I have ever seen. I was going to say $500 easy until I noticed the damage on the back. Now maybe $200 or so IMNEO. Real value comes from collectors and you know how they react to less than perfect. Still pretty. I'd use them.

I was wondering if that was damage at the bottom or they came that way? The patina and smoothness on that spot looked perfect but had me wondering. Is it worth repairing, can it be repaired?

On ebay those would pull three bills easy, maybe more. If they fit your hand well I would keep em on that gun, it's a sweet looking revolver.

They look like factory original Cokes to me but they look like they have been cleaned up and refinished maybe due to the damage. My guess is they didn't quite fit so someone shaved them down in the very bottom to not stick out. Still a combo that makes it a looker.

After seeing the damage,I'd have to sell them.Whatever they fetched, would be a nice amount off of a pair of Keith Browns or Nills.
