Hi. I need help/suggestions on stocks for my 27-9 revolver. I don't really like the stocks that came on this new revolver. Also, since I got it back from warranty repair and tried new Altamont stocks I see the factory stocks are cut unevenly and I don't like the finish on them. So I've tried two other ones I got from Altamont. I like the darker ones, but also the contrast of the fake ivory against the black metal. Once I decide on stocks and make sure the gun works I'll shop for a decent holster & belt. I usually have pretty thick skin so if they all look bad then any suggestions are welcome. Thank you all very much. I have one pic where I try to show the poor fit of the originals. Fourth pic shows the uneven fit of the original ones. Thanks, Jeff T.

Sure hope warranty repair works. Guess repair folk are blind to grip fit! Don't have any but ivory grips do look good against blue. Gen. G. Patton had carved ivory grips & became irate if someone referred to them as 'mother of pearl'. No new genuine ivory now. Please continue follow-ups.

Xs 2 what the DixieRanger said. hard to beat ivory on blue. ivory being hard to find and expensive you might think on bone or stag witch also look good on blue, at least to me. 27-2 with stag, 14 no dash jigged bon and 624-2 with stag or bone, not sure but sure think they look good. oops the 624 is stainless. sorry got carried away and don't know how to delete the pics krs

Here's my 29-10 with Altamont checkered faux ivory. I want a set of stags at some point.

The ivory grips you have on the 27 look pretty nice, I like the original grips that I have seen on the new 27s.

I appreciate the pictures above. All 4 in post #3, especially the finger grooved wood. Post 4 that stag color is very nice, and the 1911 has a great color combo in them. The white in post 5 looks really nice, but I chose smooth vs checkered. In hindsight I should've put the silver medallion on my smooth white ones. My pics are far from professional, but I think I like the medium-dark in my third picture in person. A tad lighter would be cool maybe. Perhaps another gun would help me! I kinda feel like a pronoun looking for a new purse and shoes. I never even considered the bone or stag until I saw these pictures. If they're comfortable shooting and holding the gun I may need to get maybe two more guns instead of one more!
See, this is the first NEW S&W revolver I bought for myself and I like the looks of it; the dark blue/black really shines and when I finally decide on handles I can get some leather for it. I didn't spend a boatload of money on the stocks I bought and I can get others or nicer ones if needed, but I want at least one revolver that I dressed up myself from new, but not going over the price of the gun with accessories. I'm sure some of you may know what I'm talking about. A nice and reliable handgun that I would not be embarrassed about at "The barbecue" but would not be too hard-hit if I got separated from, money wise. I have some, few, S&Ws that would look good dressed up, but sharing K frames with the same holsters isn't the same as having a wheel gun with its own clothes. If you know, you know!
I thank you guys for the help and pictures.

I like the Altamont roper-style in olive wood and santos rosewood on a blued gun.

My 27-9 came with target stocks that actually fit quite well however…. I didn't like the way that they looked so ai swapped them out for a pair of older football cut targets.

So, I shined up the original stocks and they look good but they aren't even the same thickness at the bottom nor the same forward to back. Darned shame. They'll be in the case if I should sell some day. Going holster shopping if the gun stays together long enough!
