I posted earlier about my sending my Dad's M28-2 to S&W to have a 4" barrel put onto it, repair/replacement of a damaged cylinder, and for a refinish.

Two forum members contacted me about having correct Magna stocks for this gun, and both members offered to let me have their stocks.

A big Thank You goes out to both "j38" and "CelticSire"! "j38" contacted me first and works not far from where I do, so he was the first I responded to. I visited him at his office, and he had a great set of stocks for my Dad's gun - and I thankfully accepted them for my Dad.

This forum has a great bunch of folks.

Here is a picture of my Dad getting to see his "new" (35 year old) M28-2 –

Here is the gun complete with Magna's and a Tyler-T –

And for those of you not faint of heart, here is a pic of me –

Peace,

More than cool, its super. I wish my father had liked guns. I would have done something like that for him. Too bad, its impossible to send a rose bush back to the factory to be rebuilt.

Terry,

Glad it all worked out for your Father. He does look like a happy camper!

By the way, that T-grip looks good on that 28!

Jerry

The work you had done to the M28, is one of the neatest things I've seen on this forum. You for thinking of it, j38 and CelticSire for volunteering the grips.

Great set up on that 28 let us know how it shoots.

Great gift for your dad! I could only hope my son would be so thoughtful.

WELL DONE ASA!!!!!!
You don't get many chances to put pleased looks on the kisser's of loved ones. But it sure looks like you found a way to!

The smile on your dad's face truly made my day!

Heck, I've gotta post his photo again!

That smile and the sparkle in his eyes is something you usually only see like that in a kid's eyes.

Then again, how truly special it is to make someone smile like that again!

Great job . . . and yes, this forum has a lot of really good people on it. A band of brothers (and sisters), I must admit!
